The Rose collection evolved from the Cactus collection, and continues Kate Hume’s exploration of organic forms, but in a more literal sense, using the idea of a helix to create clear glass trails on the simple globe like forms. The colour inspiration for the darker oxydised pieces - Winter Rose and Thorn - comes from the inner, dormant life of the plant. The Spring Rose pieces, by contrast, represent new beginnings and are in soft, fresh colours. |
